Addie McDermott is a holistic herbalist residing in the Appalachian Mountains near Asheville, NC. Addie integrates traditional herbalism, scientific evidence and Ayurveda in her product development. Her studies in herbalism began in 2008 at One World Healing Arts Institute, where she completed three herb courses and more than 600 hours with Mimi Hernandez, RH (AHG). She then completed a 450 hour Advanced Clinical Herbalism Program at Appalachia School of Holistic Herbalism with CoreyPine Shane, RH (AHG) and John Immel in 2010. In 2013 she received a Certificate in Practical Aromatherapy from Dr. Joie Power at Highlands School of Natural Healing. She is a member of the American Herbalists Guild Symposium Committee where she helps direct the future of one of the leading herbal events in the country. Addie’s inspiration comes from the wisdom held within the Earth and our bodies that know how to heal all wounds. She has a deep respect for these ancient roots and the warriors who share and protect this wisdom. Her favorite activities include working in her garden, making spontaneous medicine, listening to stories, swimming, and especially, spending time with her 9 year old son.
